PAINTING PICTURE WITH WORDS: AN INTRODUCTION TO READING AND WRITING POETY
Part 1.  July - August 2021

"The workshop was designed to view poetry as something accessible, relevant and alive. We looked at some classic poets including William Blake and D.H. Lawrence as well as more contemporary figures like Sylvia Plath, Seamus Heaney and Hollie McNish. The focus was more on the use of imagery and line rather than getting too bogged down with theme and form. I am moved by the very personal and intimate pieces that the group have produced and loved that there was lots of laughter, one or two tears and plenty of wine during the sessions."
